Cecelia E. (Lewis) Dunlap, 71, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2020. Born on December 15, 1948 in Bristol, CT, she was a daughter of the late Palmer Johnson and MaryLucy Lewis. For 26 years, Cecelia helped others as a CNA in the former Village Green of Bristol. Concurrently, she worked as a Sales Associate for Walmart in Bristol for 15 years. She retired from both in 2020. Cecelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Cortney and Renee Dunlap of Avon, CT; her daughters Ebony Dunlap of Bristol, CT and Nadine Brown of Groton, CT; her significant other Clement “Paul” Brown of Plainville, CT; one brother Leroy Hightower of Waterbury, CT; three grandchildren Layla and Merena Dunlap and Mia-Rae Fox; a Godson Howard “Howie” Brown; her ex-husband Edward “Duck” Dunlap; two nieces and a nephew Stacy, Julius, and Lakyia Thomas and a host of great nieces and nephews. Cecelia was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Willis and her twin sister Barbara Luicille Carridice, and her niece Tammy Sanders. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 12, at 11am at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 10-11am. For those that will be attending, face coverings will be required and social distancing will be highly recommended.
