Gerald Thompson, 83, of Bristol, husband of Patricia (Cable) (Root) Thompson, passed away at Countryside Manor on April 27, 2020. Born on July 21, 1936 in New Britain, CT, he was a son of the late Bertrand and Jenny (Larson) Thompson. Gerald was a US Navy veteran who served our country during the Korean Conflict. He was also an accomplished electrician serving as the electrical Project Manager on several commercial construction projects as well as commercial renovation projects. Besides his wife Pat, Gerald is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law S. Adam Thompson of Fort Myers, FL and Randall W. and Margaret "Peggy" Root of Middletown, CT; two daughters and sons-in-law Lorianne and Thomas Siomades of Leawood, KS and his estranged daughter Sherry Pardue and her husband Todd of Fairfax Station, VA; four grandchildren Michelle Ann Root, Sunday Honor Siomades, Alexander (Sasha) Beach Siomades, and Alexandra Nicole Pardue and many nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his brothers Bertrand, Raymond, Robert, and Richard Thompson and his sisters Shirley Kalwat and Gertrude Bury. Because of the social gathering restrictions currently in place, services for Gerald will be held on a future date.
