Joseph “Reggie” Reginald Gorneault, 80, of Bristol, husband of Frances I. (Cunningham) Gorneault, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2019. Born on March 22, 1938 in St. Agatha, ME, he was a son of the late Adolphe and Leone (Nadeau) Gorneault. Joseph was a member of the National Guard for two years before enlisting in the US Airforce where he would serve for four years. After the Airforce, Joseph worked for the former Fafnir Bearing in New Britain for 3 years. After the closing of Fafnir, he worked for a few other companies before retiring in 1998. Joseph was a former member of St. Matthew’s Church, here in Bristol. Besides his wife Frances, Joseph leaves his son Dennis J. Gorneault of Plymouth, CT; his daughter Arleen A. Dwyer and her partner Terry Albert of Wallingford, CT; his brother Clifford J. Gorneault; two grandchildren Reginald J. Gorneault and Kile Philips; a great grandson Kayn, and many nieces and nephews. There are no services for Joseph. Donations in Joseph’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol is in charge of the arrangements.
