Katherine (Hopley) Fecteau, 95, of Bristol, Connecticut entered into eternal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, June 29th, 2018 at Touchpoints of Farmington. Katherine was the beloved wife of the late J. Ernest Fecteau. Born in Wilsonville, Illinois, she is the daughter of the late James Hopley and Maryann (Bell) Hopley. She met and married her husband of 65 years in Chicago. She moved back to her husband’s hometown of Bristol where she was a lived here until she split many years between Connecticut and St Petersburg, Florida. Katherine was employed by General Electric (GE) for many years until her retirement and she started her new career of going into business with her husband, daughter Kathy, and son in law Brian, to run Ernie’s Discount Liquors until her final retirement at the age of 75. She was a former member of the Prospect United Methodist Church in Bristol where she taught Sunday School for many years. Katherine enjoyed shopping, tag sales with her daughter Kathy, Sunday rides after breakfast with her husband, and the Florida sunshine! She had a bold sense of style that matched her personality. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Kathy Brady and her husband Brian. Her daughter, Michelle Chevalier and her husband, Michael. Her Granddaughters Meghan Ray, Shannon Ziomek, Jennifer Washburn, and Rachelle Jackson. Her Great Grandchildren Adam Ziomek, Elizabeth Washburn, Jackson Ray, Gabriel Ziomek, Sydney Ray, Jackson Washburn, Olivia Washburn, and baby Jackson. She is predeceased by her sibling’s Mary, Irene, Annis, Jack, and Jim all of Illinois. We want to thank Touchpoints of Farmington for their excellent care of Katherine through her long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. We especially appreciate and are forever grateful to Regina, Darcy, Barbara, and many others who made her feel loved and comfortable. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 5th at St. Joseph Church at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30am at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol.
